A move towards

A Move Towards Closer Relationships

On Saturday, February 13th, Mayor Tim Watchorn opened the first meeting in Morin Heights of the MRC’s “Un Pas de plus vers la Proximité” a joint SQ and MRC initiative. Addressing a group of invited community leaders, Mayor Watchorn explained the purpose of this ongoing programme was to determine the community’s expectations and concerns regarding crime prevention by the MRC’s Police Services.

Director of the project for MRC Pays-d’en-Haut, Ms.Chantal Leblanc explained the meeting would take the form of an open forum in which the guests present were invited to raise concerns and questions. The input would help the MRC establish a list of local priorities so that the best support possible could be offered through a realistic personalized service. Ms.Leblanc then introduced the other panel members who were:

Officer Elizabeth Basralian, Sûreté du Québec, MRC Pays-d’en-Haut

Charles Bernard, Director of the Fire and First Responders Department of Morin Heights.
