Trails conditions

February 16, 2019

We received more than 70 cm of snow this week including 15 cm Friday ... The maintenance team is at work but with all these accumulations the progression is slower and difficult.

Back-country ski and snowshoe:

There is a lot of snow and the movements require more energy and the progression is slower. Evaluate your ride before leaving.

Cross-country skiing mechanically groomed:

The base is not completely firm. The passage of snowmobiles and cold temperatures will increase the hardness of the surface in the coming days.

The snow received on Friday does not allow us to open all sectors some trails were only compacted.

Watch the ski conditions to know the last areas groomed and traced.

Great Loop of the Marathon:

The big loop of the Marathon is not accessible due to a mechanical break that prevents the Viking Club from doing the maintenance. South Viking Trail will be closed.

Trails conditions:
We invite you to consult our conditions regularly to know the latest information.

. Visibly display a valid ticket or season pass;
. Possess solid skiing and map reading skills;
. Be prepared and equipped accordingly;
. Be in a good physical condition;
. Ski with a partner;
. Inform someone of your itinerary and expected time of return;
. If carrying a cell phone, know how to locate your coordinates in case of emergency.

Dogs:
Dogs are FORBIDDEN on all cross-country trails but are permitted on snowshoe trails during CERTAIN HOURS. Due to heavy traffic, dogs are NOT PERMITTED on snowshoe trails during Christmas holidays or ON WEEKEND BETWEEN 10 H AND 15 H. Dogs must always be on a leash and be under control at all times.
