Torchlight Snowshoeing Hike

FREE!

The Municipality of Morin-Heights invites you to a torchlight snowshoe event. A 3 km snowshoe course, as well as a shorter one (around 1,5 km), awaits you for great family time under the stars.

At the end of the activity, you can all sip on a hot chocolate while enjoying Yvon Boutin’s tales.

The whole family is welcome on Saturday, January 19th, at Parc Basler (99, ch. du Lac-Écho). We suggest that families start at 18:00. Last authorized start is at 19:30.
No reservation necessary.
In the event of bad weather, the activity will be canceled.

You will be invited to express yourself on various themes related to the quality of life in Morin-Heights, in a context of open communication and constructive exchanges. Come share your ideas and your vision with your fellow Morinheighters and contribute to building the future of our community!

The Recreation and Culture Department, in collaboration with Le Moulin à vent, invites you to join in on the outdoor fun! Be a part of the Winter Madness with your family and friends and partake in various activities and challenges. A great way to discover traditional sports and activities from around the globe!

Piedmont’s Campuces will welcome Morin-Heights’ children this summer at Mont Habitant (12, ch. des Skieurs, St-Sauveur).

REGISTRATIONS at Piedmont’s Town Hall (670, rue Principale)
Friday, April 5th from 18:00 to 20:00 or Saturday, April 6th from 8:00 to 15:00 or Monday, April 8th from 8:30 to 15:00

To validate the registration, you must bring:
- a proof of residence
- two recent photos of your child
- the medical insurance card number of your child
- your social insurance number (for relevé 24)
- the payment for one-third of the total amount, by cheque, cash or debit card to be paid upon registration. Balance payable in two equal installments by post-dated cheques made to the “Municipalité de Piedmont”, dated May 6 and June 6, 2019.

No refund in case of abandonment for registration at Campuces, for outings, daycare, and tennis.

Camp for 5-11 year olds - Tuesday, June 25th to Friday, August 9th, from 8:45 to 16:15

For seven years now, the municipal Recreation Services from our MRC have been organizing a day of activities for 50+ at Hôtel du Mont Gabriel in Sainte-Adèle, Place aux 50 ans et mieux. The theme this year will be «We invite you... to the party!».

The day will offer a wide variety of games and entertainment as well as a buffet for lunch. You can expect some surprises and a lot of fun!

Do not miss it on May 6th, from 9:00 to 16:15! Limited places!

Children’s Fishing Day at Rivière-à-Simon

 
 

Bilingual Babysitting Course

For children 11 to 15 years old who are interested in babysitting, this complete course will help them by acquiring the necessary skills to face this important responsibility.

They will learn practical things, such as preparing snacks, inventing games and activities for kids of all ages, changing diapers, and also what to do in case of an accident using basic first-aid skills. They will learn valuable tips about prevention and security, including how to cope with tantrums and crying, plus learn about their rights and responsibilities as babysitters.

The course is offered at $60 per person, including a manual and a cards wallet upon the successful completion of the course.

Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd from 9:00 to 13:00, at Chalet Bellevue, 27, rue Bellevue. Bilingual training.

You must bring: a pen or pencil and paper, coloring crayons and a doll or stuffed animal (baby size if possible).

Joyful Noise Choir and M.H.E.S Spring Concert

Joyful Noise Choir and the Morin-Heights Elementary School Choir presents their annual spring concert on Sunday, June 2nd, at 15:00.

The concert takes place at United Church (831, ch. du Village), it is a free event, but donations to the church are welcome.

SuperFolk Morin-Heights is a friendly and free music festival that was first held in August 2017 in the village of Morin-Heights. The festival was conceived by local folk musician Ian Kelly, organized by over 25 volunteers and attracted numerous music fans to enjoy a sunny weekend of folk music with several renowned artists including Martha Wainwright, Bobby Bazini, Jorane, and of course, Ian Kelly.

By popular demand the festival will be back in 2019, and hopefully every year after! To ensure the continuity of the festival, local friends of the festival formed a non-profit corporation « SuperFolk Morin-Heights » to ensure that the festival continues to capture and project the very unique vibe of the village of Morin-Heights for years to come.

SuperFolk Morin-Heights puts the spotlight on our musicians and artists, our uniting values, our environmental efforts, our unique bilingual culture, and our rich musical history. SuperFolk Morin-Heights is one of life’s few simple pleasures - a beautiful event where local families and friends can connect and reconnect while enjoying the last warm days of summer under the sun.
