Knitting Group

The knitting group meets twice a month to knit, chat and share ideas. And it’s not just for knitters; those who like to crochet, do embroidery or other needlework are also welcome!

Meetings will be held at the Library’s Remembrance Hall on the second and fourth Thursdays of January, February and March from 13:00 to 16:00. In December, there will only be one meeting, on the 14th. You are welcome for the full three hours, or less, depending on your availability.

This is an informal group, so there is no need to sign up or to confirm your presence. Please join us to knit, share and chat! All you have to bring are your supplies.

If you have any questions, please contact Monique Bélisle at 450 226-8464.

The Morin-Heights Viking Loppet

Regrettably, the organizing committee has decided to cancel the 46th edition of the Morin-Heights Viking Loppet. The difficult decision was made based on a variety of factors which included trail and weather conditions, safety and the difficulty of modifying the route at the last minute.

A great deal of planning and preparation goes into the event with the goal of creating a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Fun and safety remain paramount in our planning, but we are always at the mercy of Mother Nature and we realize that there are times where she may not cooperate. Preparing the route requires reasonable snow conditions for a couple of days before the event and is not solely based on the weather of the day.

Many factors were taken into consideration before making the decision as the event involves mobilizing more than 100 volunteers. Alternative routes were considered, but in the end the committee felt that if we could not create an enjoyable and safe event, held in a festive atmosphere to help celebrate winter for all those involved, then it would be best to cancel and try again next year.

Registered skiers will be refunded their entry fee.

We are already discussing plans for next year and hopefully you will join us in 2019.
